Keeping a tally here of loot acquired during Lay of the Land. I'll edit in new additions as we go through. Folks should post claimed gear in this thread; at the end of the adventure, I'll post the final list when it comes time for salvage.

Contact (Everyone): CS Cpl. Peter Fellman
Corporal Fellman is a Tolkeen burnout; after his tour there, he was so tired of fighting that he was deemed largely worthless by the CS high command, despite being loyal to his orders. He was thus assigned to guard-duty on shipping barges along the Missouri River. By CS standards, he's almost egalitarian in his outlook--while in the field, especially outside CS territory, he could really care less if someone's a D-Bee or a magic-user, so long as they aren't an active threat to the Coalition States or established human communities (he won't go out of his way to save a town of innocent D-bees from some supernatural threat, but that's about the worst that can be said of him). While not really in the loop on CS military issues, he can be used to acquire pre-109 Infantry Gear and the like (as the phasing out of the older gear continues, a good bit of it is shipped to human communities not officially allied with the CS as a diplomatic overture--sometimes crates fall off the barge, you know?), and can give a heads-up to river-based activity by the CS Navy, though usually not the details about their missions. Finally, for those so inclined, he can also acquire Coalition "Officially Sanctioned Media"--typically the latest propaganda vids out of Chi-Town, but also the current episodes of popular entertainment (all of which, of course, does its best to push the CS 'ideals' of Humans Good, D-Bees and Mages Bad; still, as such is some of the only professionally produced entertainment on the continent, it's surprisingly popular outside the CS borders, even if many only watch it ironically).

The Journal of Carlos Olivera: Nothing particularly valuable in terms of cash, but damn, that's some bad news!

Three medallions of Accursed Silver. These items grant the following immunities: Holy, Sunlight, Water and Silver. Beneficial Powers cast upon someone carrying these are no more effective than damaging ones with those Trappings; furthermore, any additional attempt to USE such substances or trappings by the one bearing the medallion is ineffective (so water becomes ash in your mouth, for instance). They probably would have a huge value on the Black Market, though, if you wanted to go there.

Weapon has a personality--in this case, that of a somewhat arrogant, though noble and courageous dragon--and can communicate telepathically with one who holds it.
Bond after six months of regular contact; once this is established, the owner and gun can sense one another within four miles, and the gun can use telepathy to communicate as well
Only someone who aligns with the weapon's personality can wield it, and it can sense whether or not the would-be owner has the proper traits; in this case, it requires Heroic (must-have), and after that seeks Code of Honor, Loyal and Overconfident characters. It will not work with Greedy, Bloodthirsty or Mean characters.
Limited Powers (3/day each, using modified No Power Points rules below):
Limited Powers may be cast using Arcane Skill die, or Spirit die.
Barrier (Fire Trapping; Barrier does 2d6 to anyone passing through it) [Penalty: up to 5 segments at no penalty, 6th at -1, then -1 for every 2 thereafter)
Disguise (Flesh-morph Trapping) [Penalty: None]
Fly (Winds Trapping, self only) [Penalty: Base Pace, no penalty; Pacex2, -1]

Rules for Powers on Rune Weapons:
No Power Points
Instead of using Power Points, characters with a Rune
Weapon simply choose the power they want to activate
and make an arcane skill or Spirit roll (sometimes another
Skill is acceptable, as well). The penalty to the roll is half
the power’s usual Power Point cost (rounded down). Casting
the armor power, for example, which costs 2 Power
Points, is an arcane skill roll at –1. Greater Rune weapons
reduce this penalty by 1, and Greatest Rune Weapons reduce
it by 2.
Once cast, check the results below:
• Success: The power activates as usual.
• Raise: A raise on the roll grants any additional bonuses
to the power stated in its description.
• Failure: All currently maintained powers are cancelled
and the caster is Shaken
• Critical Failure: Backlash--suffer 2d6 damage.
