Characters Ideas: Open for Discussion

All IFs and MARS frameworks are on the table and, given that this is Psyscape and the Magic Zone, repeats of concepts (especially psychic ones) are 100% okay.

I will work up an introductory post with table rules, etc. for this game once we get closer, but I wanted to let you know that we can do some custom limitations or modifications for powers in order to fit certain archetypes, if that is of interest to anyone.

I believe, for example, that someone on hangouts mentioned that they preferred when Illusion was more a mental image and less a hologram. I think we could get that result by applying a version of the Aspect limitation to the power, meaning it would cost 1 less ISP to activate but would appear only in the target's mind (and be imperceptible to any third parties).

His original build was Human and a Rogue Scholar. I think he will stay that way, though his skills will be fewer and the power level toned down.

A couple ideas I have sitting around. Trying to fit them into the psi-theme is more difficult.

Crazy - This is psionic, so would work. I'm thinking basically Deadpool. Break the 4th wall. Uses game terms, like Order of the Stick. I'm just not sure I can pull crazy off.

Glitterboy or Power Armor - Not psi, but I suppose I could take the AB for when he's outside the suit. Can you use psionics in PA? At least self-only stuff? Not sure if it's worth it without mega psi. That would be a big Edge investment.

Mystic Paladin - basically make a paladin using the Mystic. Has Psionics, so that would go with the theme.

Ideas? Preferences? What does the team need?

  • Parley: All characters cease fighting and listen to the hero speak for at least 30 seconds. Others may only take defensive actions during this time. This has no effect on beasts and other creatures that cannot understand the speaker.

For what it’s worth, you do not need to be a psionic character for this campaign. All IFs and MARS packages are welcome.

And, yes, you can use Psionics inside power armor in SWADE at a -4 penalty (-2 if the face plate is removed).
