(Session 2 - January 6th, 2018) One Tree Hill

Post by Sgt 86Delta »

It has been a few weeks since the squad (now at five members) laid Captain Grey to rest in the bossom and welcoming embrace of his wife, in the church yard in Liverpool. Their encounters with the Sea Witch and the transformed Captain Grey have been logged in the Vauxhall Archives. The artifacts from the SS Great Britian have been claimed and some have been donated or given to other parties and factions.

The ship wrights of Avonsmouth are currently retrofitting a Colony Riverboat (reference Rifts Dimension Book 14: Thundercloud Galaxy), as a trade for the Binding Stone of Amon Amarth. While it will take several months to get the beached relic operational, the locals of Avonsmouth assured the squad that it would be a viable transport. They are willing to take recommendations and suggestions should anyone wish to pitch concepts or design suggestions.

Following the celebration at the White Stag Tavern, the squad sleeps off their night of festivities in the Vauxhall Cross Barracks. The following morning the members are directed to various floors and subfloors for briefings and debriefings.

Peace
Peace meets with some biomechanical engineers to discuss the protosource. The discussion is length as Peace describes the nuances of the power source. The engineers are on their game though and propose several options, a few of which would need to be cleared through command. (Peace - Outline some details of the protosource in your response. Thanks - The Sarge).

Brigid
Brigid is directed to a strategy room with a current map of the British Isles. The floor to ceiling display has an array of colors and glowing lines as well as pulsing dots and such. The strategists near the display, great Brigid and inform her of a new development in the area of North Umberland. (Brigid - Outline some details of the developments. Thanks - The Sarge).

Seamus
Seamus, the quiet gentle giant and protector of the people, is taken to an auditorium, large enough that his size will not compromise the surroundings. Informed that his mother has left a message, it is up to Seamus to determine what the message is reference to. (Seamus - Outline the details of your mother's letter. Thanks - The Sarge).

Earl
Earl is brought to a testing center to check the extent of his psychic abilities. When he mentions Porton Down, the evaluators shake their heads, as they know very little about it. Earl does show them te section from the family history of the family bible that denotes someone having been sent to Porton Down for some testing. Not entirely sure what to do about Earl's request to visit the location, he directed to join Brigid in the Strategy Room.

Pointing to a section of map in middle southern section of England, "Records show that Porton Down was located here. This location is fairy kingdom and wildly dangerous for the unprepared. What specifically are you interested in finding there, Knight Errant Earl?" (Earl - Please determine the nature of your inquiry into Porton Downs. Thanks - The Sarge).

Seelia
Seelia is a flighty one and being drunk means she is kicking off lots of energy. Until she is sober, they keep her in a padded four foot cube, that collects the generated power given off when she collides with the walls. Labeled "Fairy Dust", scientist rush off to study it further. Seelia sober is asked to join Brigid and Earl in the Strategy Room.

"Lady Seelia," says Knight Commander Buxley, "What if any is your affiliation with the Fae Kingdom to the south of Bath." (Seelia - Please give some details if she has any of the Northtown Fae Kingdom, south of Camelot. Thanks -The Sarge)

Protoculture Engine Conversion to Terrestrial Power Supplies wrote: "Protoculture Engine Conversion to Terrestrial Power Supplies"

Specific Aims:
- Convert an existing protoculture powered engine to an available terrestrial power supply.
- Maintain performance levels of the existing protoculture powered engine upon conversion to an available terrestrial power supply.

Background & Summary:
The protoculture engine uses the highly unique energy source "protoculture" derived from the flower of life native to, and extinct on, Optera (the Invid home world). The only other known planet with a suitable habitat for the propagation of the flower of life is Earth (theoretically any version of "Earth"). Therefore a replacement terrestrial power supply is required for the continued operation of protocultured powered engines. Second generation

The mechanism of organic fusion within the protoculture matrix and its conversion into electrical and thermal energy is known, however, the mechanism for generation of the additional symbiotic machine-human interface, increased durability, and tendency to facilitate mutli-form structures is unknown. The mechanism is unknown currently because it directly contradicts existing scientific principles.

Utilizing the diverse scientific and meta-scientific resources available on this current version of Earth, we propose to investigate the mechanism behind the unknown qualities. Said investigative paths include: psionic functional equivalents, techno-wizadry functional equivalents, bio-wizardry functional equivalents.

Your Assistant
Peace has a new friend. Assigned by Command to help Peace identify and catalogue the necessary elements to replicate or reproduce the protosource. He also has a labratory assigned within in "The Castle".

Justin, feel free to design her as you see fit. Maybe she has been studying alien and off-world technologies. She might be a tech head who understands engineering and machines better than most. What ever you decide, she does have the Professional Edge, twice.

Mission Brief

The Compound or Vauxhall Cross Castle is like a hive. One very large bee hive with too many comings and goings to even be able to note specifics in general terms.

The squad is brought together in a breifing room somewhere on the second or third floor. Knight Commander Buxley addresses the gathered members. "We have a new situation developing to the east of us at Silbury Hill."

Taking the squad's silence as permission to continue, Buxley states, "There has been an increase in arrivals via the Millenium Tree at Silbury Hill. Not exactly sure why. Guess we will be finding out together. Command has assigned myself and Ms. Amberlee to join you."

Taking to his feet, the Knight Commander salutes and places his hand over his heart, "Vauxhall. Glory for God, King and Country."

Dropping his hand to his side, "We meet tomorrow morning at 10 am at the eastern river gate. Transportation is on you as always." Walking past the squad members, he passes Amberlee, stops and pats her on her shoulder and heads out of the briefing room.

"Lady Seelia," says Knight Commander Buxley, "What if any is your affiliation with the Fae Kingdom to the south of Bath." (Seelia - Please give some details if she has any of the Northtown Fae Kingdom, south of Camelot. Thanks -The Sarge)

Seelia stood up, inhaled deeply, then blew a terrific great raspberry, spraying pixie slobber on the table in front of her.

"THAT'S my affiliation!" she declared defiantly. "They LIVE in HOLES in the GROUND, like common gnomes and they have their own Queen except I think he's a King and they're stupid and they have stupid faces!"

The faerie huffed indignantly, then shrugged and much more calmly went on.

"There's mostly sprites down there, really. Sprites and silverbells and the little Little Folk. Some big folk living in villages around the edges of the woods, or near their farmy things. They don't let any big folk near the center though!" She erupts into giggles and gestures in the air, making shapes like circles. "It's these hills, only they're hollow. That's where they all live most of the time when they're not flying around or being stupid. And right in the center..."

She 'tapped' lightly in midair.

"The prize. All the rivers of light come together and every night they have a big party and..." Seelia sighed wistfully. "It was pretty fun."

The pixie then clapped her hands once and looked around. "Um, what else? There's Little Folk all around the great stones, all around. Most of them live in the hollow hills though, so you may not see them if you go there. There's the stupid spriggan castle, and OH! Old Sarum! And Faerievale! We have to go to Faerievale, it's the BEST! It's one of the Great Trees and it's FULL of us and they love me even though I almost set a branch on fire! And Old Sarum is the BIGGEST Tree of all! And there's druids there!"

Seelia considered for a second, then added, "There's Glastonbury too, only I heard it's got a big...um...triangle thing on it now. No more parties there." She sighed, then immediately brightened.

"Are we going to one of the Great Trees?!"
