"Fell, Little Hotfoot has a point, the computers in this room could give us valuable historical insight into this power plant." Sir Sayeen looks around for Cory. Where did she run off too? Isn't she good with computers?
" Perhaps we can come back for them?"

Sir Sayeen readies himself for the rearguard. Psi maul in one hand, and his pistol in his off hand. He watches warily for what ever creature might have made the hole the steam is seeping through. As fell leads the way Sir Sayeen at him and moves out making sure his Cyber knight armor " is buttoned up". Besides the sound of the steam and our foot falls, its too quiet down here, too quiet. The shadows seem to shift, they grow long, then shorten. It is the calm before the storm, something bad is going to happen, something really bad... Sir Sayeen lets out a long sigh trying to calm his nerves. He mutters " Keep thinking like that you'll give yourself heart attack... Just keep it together for one more hurrah." He clicks his radio trying to keep his voice quiet and calmn, " Little Hotfoot, you see anything let me know. I can't have you go charging after something down a hole by yourself. JB would never let me hear the end of it."

      (Rolls Carried)

Qoat begins moving forward, but stops when Sayeen mentions the computers and tools. That's a good idea. If there's still enough heat being generated to create steam, maybe there's still a trickle of power available. He moves back to where Timothy fell through the room and pans the room with his lights. He checks out the electronics and computers to see if any of it is still working, or could be made to work, possibly an interior security camera system. If he gets the computer operational, he moves aside to let Cory 'hack' away at it.

      Computers: 2
      Wild Die: 3

      Repair: 4
      Wild Die: 5

While he's searching, he says over the radio, "Cory and Gale, do you sense anything supernatural, psychic, or magical nearby?"

Afterwards, he checks out the tools for anything useful until Fell says it's time to move out.

Fell moves to a position where he can keep an eye on the team and on the direction they are going to head. A rapid tapping sound causes his arm hairs to stand straight up until he realizes it just his own foot.

I feel like it's taken us weeks to get down here. Gotta remember to listen to the others. They're likely all smarter kittens than me.

      The Juicer chuckles a loud.

Cory has a moment of cognitive dissonance. While waiting for Qoat to get the machine running, the pull to push deeper into the labyrinth is strong, but so is the draw of a mysterious computer system. The computer is something from a previous life, it was a skill gained before the intervention of Sun and Moon. Did that make it less valid? Well, probably not. And it is RIGHT HERE.

If/when Qoat get the computer running, Cory moves quickly to the terminal. She flips up the visor and takes off the bulky gauntlets. She wiggles her fingers in the air for a moment and than gets really focused on finding out what this computer has to say. She'll do her best to crack any security to get access to as much as possible. It brings back some good memories that are a bit disconcerting. A slew of emotions moves across her face as she works. She hopes no one is watching.

      Mini-Update
Unlike most of the plant, the room Tim fell into is untouched by scavengers. Time has destroyed any papers but many items are still in tact including computer terminals and tool kits. Qooat is able to find a diagnostic computer that can be plugged into any machine with a universal jack and readout technical details. It will be a dream for repairing high tech gear. At the computer terminals Cory goes to work and is able to find out a lot, like exactly when the plat went off line, list of employees, and schematics of the facilities. She is also able to download full technical specifications for the plant's reactor, not much good for right now but very valuable technology for the right buyer.

      Pre-Rifts Diagnostic Computer
Can attach to any high tech device with a universal jack port providing a diagnostic read-out of all systems. Adds +2 to associated Repair rolls.

      Power Plant Technical Documents
A hard drive contain a full technical package of the pre-Rifts power plant.

      Schematics
A map of the power plant facility.

When Sayeen says, "Little Hotfoot, you see anything let me know. I can't have you go charging after something down a hole by yourself. JB would never let me hear the end of it."
Sinder stops, and takes a deep breath, "Just like the old days as I remember. It was mother who was the inquisitive one, always pushing forward. dad would say 'Slow down.' and mom would reply, I'm not a candle just stuck in one place. I am a wildfire that wants to run free and see everything as fast as it can. Don't worry dear, I'll flush everything out.'"
Sinder Keys the mic and smile at the his memories of his mother and father, "Copy, but like my mother, I am not a candle, when it comes time for the wildfire, Keep up."

Sinder then goes to the door. "Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time for the grand opening. Are we ready?" Sinder will open the door for the others when they are ready. Then he stands back for the leads to go forward.

When Cory, heads by he says, "Cory, you will have to teach me how to do the things, that you do with computers." He then goes into the marching order following the others.

Gale basks in the praise and internalizes all of the compliments for his having dealt with the munition. He waits for everyone else to safely descend before joining them and, watching after the fall, chuckles once he's certain that Timothy isn't hurt. Once everyone else has safely landed and confirmed that the area isn't contaminated he dives off the ledge, only breaking his fall with his wings a couple of meters above the ground.

He reaches out with his senses to sweep the area for any notable sources of arcane power.

Stepping aside from Cory, Qoat takes the time to examine the diagnostic computer. Now to use the vernacular, this is what they call a Magic Longsword +2. This is way cool! He resists the urge to immediately plug it into his stuff and stows it in his survival pack. He goes back and looks over Cory's shoulder.

"Hey, that looks like a schematic of the power plant. Any other locations on there look like a high priority target that the other teams may have been trying to get to?"

Timothy waits for the team to dig through the garbage. By the Emperor, they are just like children and dragons. O wait, one of them is a dragon. When the team locates the map of the plant, Timothy takes notices. "Hey, any chance we can get that passed around? Having it as an overlay will be a good idea."

Timothy will move forward, with the map up on his HUD with more confidence, alternating between night vision and thermal vision. The map overlaid on the vision appears to have caused a conflict with his ability to switch between vision modes. Sound pissed off Timothy turns to Quat. "By the Emperor Q, are you trying to get me killed? Did you check this dam thing for a virus or something? I'll answer for you, no you didn't. Now my vision is screwed up, again" Timothy checks the map for a possible med bay.

"Timothy, this is what the 3rd or 4th time your optics have gone out? I don't think it's the map, I think you need to go back to what ever chop-shop you got your cyberntics installed and ask for a full refund." By the Great and Powerful Q, you'd think a mechanical man would have some mechanical skills.

"Hold still while I plug this in," Qoat says as he pulls out the pre-Rifts diagnostic device. Well, I did wish for something to try it on.... He asks the standard questions, "Let's start with the basics, did you plug it in? Did you turn it on? Did you spill any coffee on it?" Once the diagnostic is complete, he does the old stand by and reboots the component .

Timothy sees Q pull out the laptop that they just found to plug into him. "Are you kidding me? You want to use that thing on me? It's older than the senile old man." Timothy runs out of space to avoid Q and the computer is plugged into his data jack. "If i get a virus from that, I'm using it for target practice."

Qoat half listening to Timothy innocently makes some small talk, like a dentist does when he has his hands in a patient's mouth, "And where was it that you got your bionics done?" He subconsciously pulls out a stylus and engraves a quick Q on the inside of the cover plate before he closes it .

Seeing Q with a Stylus, and a golden opportunity at hand Sir Sayeen walks over to the quickflex. So that is where my pen went to, how good of Q to bring out so I can finally sign the Borg.
"Qoat, you wouldn't mind if I borrowed that would you?" Sir Sayeen says pointing at the stylus.
(( Assuming Q lets him borrow it))
Sir Sayeen puts a scripted SG on the borg's back on the left shoulder blade. " Perfect thanks Q. And why don't you hold on to this for a bit more." Sir Sayeen hands the stylus back to Q.
" At last you are all set Timothy, my debt is repaid as promised."

Sir Sayeen goes back to watching out for some kind of unseen enemy that may or may not be lurking out in the power plant.

        Into the Deep
After a brief pit stop, the group reassembles and heads down the next corridor, aided by their newfound plant layout. Coming to an extremely large and wide ramp they descend down another level into the main level of the plant. According to their schematics this once would have been where the main reactors were located - although they have long been scavenged away. Instead of a reactor they see something definitely not part of the original decor: a blood drawn circle on the floor with a number of bodies surrounding it!

Qoat moves with the group down into the main level, seeing the large circle and bodies, he steps back and searches the corners with his optics for anything skulking. When Merleggon decides to make muddy puddles, he feels the gory splash against his legs, he quickly turns around and looks to see what's hit him. Seeing the bloody chunks, Qoat thinks, Great now I am going to get laundry duty. Dammit.

When Merlaggon asks Fell if he should try eating humans, Qoat speaks up, "Merlaggon, before you ask, Quick-Flex are pretty much all around awesome, but we are not, I repeat, are not good eats."

Moving closer to the circle, he comments, "Sure sign of bad juju, any of you sensitive types stretched out with your feelings yet?" Not having any skill at magic, Qoat moves past the circle looking at the room and it's more technological components for anything of interest.

That's a huge circle, what the heck were they doing in here? Those Feds were always summoning nasties when my unit was on patrol. It was never a happy friendly fluffy bunny rabbit, always something vicious and evil. He crouches down and slings off his pack, and takes a look at the hodge-podge of electronic pieces he'd stuffed inside. Hmm, there's a small speaker from that broken radio. Re-arranging the circuitry and imprinting a psychic command, maybe I can make an anti-magic zone. Would that work on some demonic creature, ah, I don't know. I'll wait for now until we know more.

Sir Sayeen stays near the group circling the bloody occult circle careful not to disturb it. It almost looks like he is doing a dance with an unseen companion. But in reality is carefully looking at every shadow, and every crevice making sure nothing is there that will attack his companions. Something is down here. Something dark, and dangerous. Perhaps the federation unleashed something they were not supposed to?

Something is bothering Cory about all of this. It's distracting her. She falls a little behind the rest of the merry band of Fell's Follies (a name she will use no matter if something more official gets decided). She studies the structure, the map from the computer, and tries to figure out just what it is here that these lost people are after, but more importantly what is it that captured or killed them when they got here. She tries to remember from the briefing and the recording they listened to just where in the building did that team encounter the big bad.

She misses Merl's blunder through the bodies. Seeing the aftermath though, she says, "Like, what the hell just happened here?" The tenor of the jokes from the others makes it pretty clear.

"Don't listen to those jokers," Cory says, "They are just being jerks. But Fell is right, don't eat people."

Then she studies the circle. She isn't squeamish about the bodies, she doesn't disrespect them either. She is careful in investigating the scene. She's pretty sure off the bat that the bodies were as important to the ritual as the symbol itself. But it's harder to tell now that the scene has been contaminated. It also seems like a weird place for a circle like this. The "why here" question nags at Cory.

She makes a point to look up too. No one ever looks up. What's the ceiling like? Can monsters hide up there? Dark recesses? She listens too, when the other morons are somewhat quiet.

Delicately stepping around the circle, she looks at what might be more steps [the things kind of like steps on the left side right next to the wall, that have the red striping on them]. She leans forward to see if there's anything down there, a door maybe? But before she does anything like go through it, she really wants to puzzle out more information about this symbol and the ritual it probably represents. She doubles down and focuses on the problem, blocking out the distractions around her.

Sir Sayeen is intricately walking the area looking and watching out for those who are investigating. He make a point to slide up next to Fell. He seems tense, as unfocused... maybe some words of encouragement can provide him with some ease and clarity.. Softly he whispers to Fell, " can you feel that? The air is unmoving, sounds are amplified ten fold. Severin it is the calm before the storm. We stand here on the edge with disaster and doom both to our left and right. We must push forward, you must push us forward. If we scatter now, none of us will emerge from this power plant." Sir Sayeen grips Fells shoulder. " you were chosen and we are all with you." with his words said Sir Sayeen continues his rear gaurd action.

            CSI Old Chicago
After Merlaggon’s traipse through the tulips, the team attempts to sort out what happened. Merlaggon and Gale sense the presence of something magical nearby but can’t pin it down. This lower is level is much darker than all the others making searching hard. Made even harder by the condition of the bodies. It looks like they were in bad shape before Merlaggon stepped into the fray. Not all can be identified by at least one appears to belong to the Tomorrow Legion other bodies appear to belong to some other force, but it is impossible to tell where their loyalties once lied.

Examining the circle Cory is able to identify it as a summoning circle. Normally used by shifters and other arcane types to summon and bind supernatural creatures from other dimensions. While there are no clues, Cory knows that if the Legion team interrupted the ritual then it’s possible whatever was summoned was not under the control of the shifter. However, with Merlaggon’s tracks and the low light it is impossible to tell if there were any inhuman creatures in the circle at some point.

Qooat uses the electronics package in his armor to survey the area. By adjusting the settings on his night vision and thermals he is able to sift through the bodies and - guided by Gal and Merlaggon - pinpoint the source of mystic energy. Digging through the gore and broken bones the Quick Flex is able to retrieve and old worn tome that Cory immediately recognizes as a spell book (Knowledge Arcana at -2 to determine its nature).

            Image

Comparing where they are against the recovered map, the team knows this is the very bottom level of the power plant. Whatever did this to the summoners and Tomorrow Legion is likely still lurking out there in the dark.

OOC: -2 to Notice and Visual trait tests unless you have an optics system or can see in the dark.

Assessing the area, and seeing how dark it is, Timothy will turn to Sinder. "You might want to brighten up some, so you can see better. As well as everyone else. We are going to be targets, but as long as everyone can see, we can do this."

Dead bodies, no, dead and trampled bodies concealing a massive arcane book all sitting around a large summoning circle, yes, that's definitely trouble.

"Okay, like what he have is a summoning circle, you know, you all know what that means, right? S-u-mm-o-n-i-n-g is pretty much what the bad guys do, like those Federation a-holes out there. Monsters, demons, and Sun and Moon only know what else." She takes the book in her hands and turns it over several times looking for any mystic traps or locks. "Tim, I totally don't have problem with flame-e-pants there burning this thing like to subatomic ashes, but I can probably tell something, you know, like, what they summoned. Like, I'm more of a fight and kill the demons mage than the summon and fail to control them type."

She takes her time and will use her flashlight to study the book in depth, taking off her heavy gauntlets to better manipulate the pages. She does not say or sound out any of the words she sees in the book. She tries to identify the language as well. She is very delicate and careful. If the book is summoning magic, she will try to match the symbol on the floor with one in the book. If she can find nothing useful in the book, she will let Tim and Sinder destroy it.*

            Fell nods at Sir Sayeen.

"Sinder what can you do to illuminate our location? Everyone stay close."

The Juicer gives Team CSI time to investigate. Keeping guard and alert.

"Well if you want light the book up and throw it into the darkness..."

Lets do it. Get the thing to come to us. Light the place up.

"Either we attract the summoned thing here or we move forward into the darkness. Then the rest of the plant. When you're done say so."

I know invstigation is important. But. I'm about to start running around screaming to get demon thing to come fight. This waiting... hurts.

Sinder listens to everyone's concerns. He tells them about a couple of different options, "Well I can light myself, throw a fire bolt or a cone up or to a certain spot. Remember when I do this we become illuminated too, and then we can become targets. I suggest everyone cover their eyes for a second, when I do use something the flash might temporarily blind them and us. another suggestion is to make yourself a small target. and after the flash move to a different spot, they might try to shoot the last place they they saw you.

"Cory, Gale or Merlagon if you can suggest a place to light up I will gladly do it." [/b]

Sinder thinks on how he wants to do this, "I should make sure I can fly and fast, I will be the main target. Bring up my Armor next, then fire a cone that will illuminate a large area."

Before Sir Sayeen can stop himself he mutters, " Burn the book?" The conversation of book burning draws his attention from his rear gaurd duty. He steps over to Cory. "I would advise against destroying such an item until it can be more fully examined." His eyes glaze over as if imagining a time far off in the distance The coalition came to a town I was in, they found the library and burnt all the books. I tried to lead the town's people against them, but they were not heroes. Who could blame them... He puts his hand gently on Cory's shoulder trying not to disturb her while she looks over the book.
" Cast your gaze well and deep Cory... What you see may rule the outcome of our foray into this forsaken plant. If the book is not inherently magical, and only its writings are filled with evil intent, it would be wise to keep such a find... If what we find down here cannot be abolished by the means we posses a further examination of the book's contents may be required. Prematurely destroying it may be our doom!"
He moves back to the perimiter content to watch and wait. As he passes Sinder he shakes his hand firmly. " Bait is no light charge, if you willingly put yourself in it, know this everything I am will be at your disposal to dispatch our unseen foe." Sir sayeen releases the grip and pulls back his faceplate so Sinder can see his worn soft eyes filled with steely determination. " It is oft said that those on the outside of the storm cannot see its true nature until too late, but in its eye your perception will be clear, and so must be the moment you call for assistance!" Sir Sayeen surprisingly pulls Sinder close and hugs him fiercely.
He whispers, " You do us all proud Hotfoot, I await your call."

Sir Sayeen finishes he movement to the perimeter finding an alcove or pile of rubble to hide behind/in preferably against a wall. He slows his breathing and uses his elvish sight to pierce the darkness. He clicks on his radio, Merlaggon, you have an excellent point. Two are better than one. A loud one and a bright one. Your unique abilities also mean you can be right next to each other should you choose. I have reached my position and lay at the ready!"

Cory listens to Sayeen, carefully considering his words. He has a very cogent argument. If the book seems innocuous she will consider stashing it. If however, the book is one focused on summoning, she will take what information is useful and have the "boys" burn it.

"Like I get it, Sayeen, burning books is like totally a bad thing. I pretty much agree, right? But beyond like it being totally repulsive personally, I sort of, you know, if we end up with a fight with those Federation dickheads outside, I, like, don't want to give it to them, you know, right?"

She continues to study the book.

Fell listens to the others. In a serious but friendly voice:

"Cory. Read. Then hand me the book. I'll take care of it. Once you are done. Sinder you and Merl do your things. Thank you both. Okay. Let's do this."

Once Cory is done Fell will place the book in his pack. Lift his Great Fellblade ChainSaw and nod a 'Go' at Sinder.

              "Burn!"

OOC: I try not to "pull rank" but Fell will take the book. (Barring any arguments) Plan on giving it to the Legion.

Check the body that had the book.

              Book Club
On discovery of the book the group debates its nature and merits, the general feeling is to destroy it but Fell asks to hold onto it to return to the legion. The book itself is a little worse for wear from whatever killed its owner but Cory determines the the book contains summoning magic for a specific creature from a very specific dimension. Also feeding and breeding instructions. Judging by the volume of food whatever it is - it’s big!

OOC: Not sure if Cory hands over the book or if the group over rules Fell and burns it.

Gale suggests more searching and examines the area again, but if the summoner had magic abilities they long since dissipated when he died and the area seems clear, other than his compatriots and the ley line outside. While the others search and debate, Sinder and Merlaggon propose a more aggressive approach to finding the creature - make it come to them.

              Dragon Taunts
Sayeen looks for cover but finds the area surprisingly open while Merlaggon and Sinder set up to draw out the creature, if it remains out there lurking in the darkness. Their efforts are reward by a snarl and pounding footsteps as something charges out of the darkness toward Merlaggon! The beast stands 15 feet tall and is at least 25 feet long! While it runs on four legs it appears to have a number of smaller arms protruding from a sack beneath it’s gaping maw. The mouth is filled with rows and rows of sharp teeth and the body is covered with armored plates and spiny protrusions. There even still appears to be have a red shirted human sticking out of its mouth!

Qooat and Tim snap off quick shots as the beast charges but they appear to bounce harmlessly off its heavy armor plates.

19-20 The Mark of Fear: The hero is Shaken
              and also suffers some cosmetic
              physical alteration—a white streak
forms in the hero’s hair, his eyes

              physical alteration. This reduces his

21+ Heart Attack: The hero is so
overwhelmed with fear that his heart
              stutters. He becomes Incapacitated
and must make a Vigor roll at –2. If
              successful, he’s Shaken and can’t

Then, he looks at the creature and is affected with a rush of terror and disgust, By the Great and Power Q, that's, that's a Spiny Ravager, it's hideous, so, so many arms. I thought Gale had two to many, but that is just wrong... "Pull it together Qoat, we need to weaken that creature." After his very stern order, Cory gives Fell the book with out any hassle. He seems to have a strong emotion about it for some reason. Cory doesn't care that much. She is still looking around the site when the monster charges.

Big scary monster? Too many people in the way for the real fun? Yes. Fireball. Cory summons a big ass fireball down from nowhere.

Sinder is flying high above the rest his wings, are angelic flaming wings, Speed 24+2 and -1 to be hit, Agility is now 8.

(Trappings for the power would be: This power causes angelic flaming wings to appear on the hero’s back, for an additional power point he can "turn on the afterburners" and add +2 pace and one a raise increase Agility by one die type for the duration of the power.)

Sinder is flying around as fast as he can. He is avoiding the monster and shooting his greater flame bolts at close range. ”What is the saying mom used, ‘Float like a butterfly sting like a bee.’” He passes in front of the monster hoping his brightness and heat will turn/ distract the monster away from the others.

OOC: +1 Bennie to all for rapid response time!

                Not the Momma

As usual Fell charges into action with his sword drawn.Unfortunately he gets a little too close and gets tangled up in the creature’s small arms and his swings are ineffective. Right behind him comes Sir Sayeen, Cyberknight of Legend, moving with speed even greater than Fell’s the old codger cracks the beast with his psi-maul. The power blow lands right on the creature’s armored head, smashing through the tough plating and smooshing it’s brain. The multi-ton monster stops dead in its tracks and falls over.

The rest of the group looks on with away as the beast just falls down, however, they soon realize that danger is not far away as more of the beasts come charging from the rubble. Most are the size of the first but two are much bigger! It seems the team has found a brood of the creatures, not just one!

                New Round (New Map)

Sinder, Gale, Merlaggon, Coary, Qoat, Tim are all on hold from last round and can act where/when they want

Sinder & Gale are airborne and out of harms way for the most part, unless these creatures can fly or shoot spikes...oh I like that.

                Fell 10D
                Babies 7D
                Mama 6H
                Papa 6S
                Sayeen 5H

Mama and Papa have the same stats as above but are considered Wild Cards. I don’t think you need to make Fear checks again...although a herd of these things might be more frightening than just one!

                Hold
A hero may choose to wait and see what happens by taking a Hold action. He may then go later in the round if he chooses. A Held action lasts until it’s used. If a character has a Held card when a new round starts, he’s not dealt in. If a character is Shaken while on Hold, he immediately loses his “Hold” status and any remaining actions for the round. If the victim soaks the attack and avoids the Shaken result, he remains on Hold.

Interrupting Actions: If a character on Hold wants to interrupt an action (including a rival who was also on Hold), he and the opponent make opposed Agility rolls. Whoever rolls highest goes first. In the rare case of a tie, the actions are simultaneous.

Qoat's hand hovers above the go button on the calculator as he sees the old Cyberknight carve the beast into steaks. I wonder if they are good eats? He realizes that he's been holding his breath and releases it only to suck it back in, as he hears the stomping of more of the creatures rushing towards the team. "Damn Shifty Sh$ty, Shifters!" Qoat exclaims as he ambidextrously taps an additional command into the Skill Calculator and reaches over to press the red button of his Blink Box. He focuses his will on the two larger beasts and the 3 of the 'babies' to the south of Fell. Then he teleports up on to the ledge by Gale.

ISP Used So Far: 8 for Flying, 1 for the Trappings,

Sinder sees the mass of Spiny Ravagers coming toward the group. A bit of panic crosses his face. Then a stern look crosses his face. He has to try and turn the leading edge, give his companions a chance to fight the rest and survive. He thinks of Cory, and Qoat in the back and being overrunned. He thinks, “This will not happen I must succeed, I will not lose my team members, My Friends!”

With incredible speed, the fiery angel, begins to take on the look of some old statues and paintings found in some places of worship that Siinder had seen with his mother when they visited some of the pre rift sights. His mother told him these were places of worship. Then she read the inscription to him, “St Michael the Archangel. I wonder if he was a burster taken out of time and dropped in an area. Maybe not who knows? I know I must try.”

With that Sinder dives, fiery wings spread out toward the big one with two smaller ones close by, his action is to deliver a Flame blast around the group and interrupt the others from circling his friends, “Die you ugly flaming piles of crapola.”

Flame Bolt +2 ISP to make it AP 4. Then add +2 ISP to make it a Flame blast over a large burst template.

Benny to use the Spirit dice instead of Agility
                Interrupt: [dice]3[/dice]
As the brightly red and orange colored flames descends toward the beast, hit the area. Then in a split second they seem to burst forth like they were contained in a balloon that just exploded, sending the flames everywhere, engulfing the group. All is hidden for a second. Then....

ISP Used So Far: 8 for Flying, 1 for the Trappings: Flame Bolt +2 ISP to make it AP 4. Then add +2 ISP to make it a Flame blast over a large burst template, =13 ISP 17 ISP to go.

The first big bug is dead. More big bugs appear. That means more fireballs! These are supernatural beasts, not part of the natural order of life, and that means, a really big fireball!

She watches as her teammates fly, blast, teleport and exhibit all manner of powers. For a moment she wonders why Fell hasn't gone yet.

She take a foolish risk. In order to catch more of the bugs, Cory dashes forwards. When she's practically face to face with the big one, she casts her massive flame thrower spell, hoping the smaller bugs are also scorched and roasted. Then she dashes away, thankful for the speed boost her armor provides.

Sighing inwardly the Juicer pushes the dead monsters arms and bloody body away. Son of a... "Well done Sayeen!"

Juice burning through his body Fell laughs aloud with glee as he rapidly turns to face the large monster that Cory is burning. "Right on Cory!"
Bolting closer with little care for being caught in her spell the Juicer slashes out at he big mother. Just as fast the chemically augmented Warrior spins, advances towards a little bugger, stabs out at it with the Fellblade then follow through from that attack striking another little bugger with his blade. Spinning ChainSaw blades tear into the three creatures as the man dances his Death dance. "Badass Sinder! You wicked Phoenix."

A lot is going on, even more in Fell's thoughts: Deathdancer, I like that. If am an Angel of Death! Then Gale is the Deathdancer! I almost want to stop fighting and watch him. Not sure what he did to my weapon, but if its as awesome as me being intangible, woot!

Merlaggon will go as soon as possible with his interrupt... and definitely before Cory. He will walk up to the west-most of the monsters and then draw upon his Draconic implanted memories to enhance his fighting. If he will is not currently engaged with the nearest small one currently, he will move into the squares Cory initially meant to occupy, but in base with the Big monster. "Stay behind me, Cory."

Hovering in the darkness above the battlefield Gale watches as things quickly descend in to chaos. I guess our strategy is hack, slash, smash, and bash. There's something to be said for sticking with what you know and doing what works...

His perception of time slows down as his feathers crackle and his eyes glow with psionic energy. He clasps his four hands together and the energy jumps up his arms, concentrating in to his fingertips. Gale dives, swoops, and weaves among his allies, keeping clear of the monsters. "Tag," Sayeen, "you're," Fell, "it," and Timothy's weapons glow and crackle with electrical energy.

Greater smite, auto raise. +8 damage with the 'armor piercing' electrical trapping on all of their weapons and attacks. In addition, all damage is mega damage. (15 ISP) Complete notes about how Smite/Greater Smite works are in my character sheet linked below.

Sayeen, Fell, and Timothy's weapons all gain +8 damage +2 AP.

... And into the flame and fire they came. One by one, two by two, into the valley of flame and fire they marched so very scorched. Sir Sayeen grimly smiles he clicks on his radio. Send these creatures back to where they came with flame and fire! Let them nor' remember the day they tangled with Fell's Follies!" Quickly he raised his hand and gives Gale a hi-five as he flys over head. The crackling of energy received surges through him eventually resting tumultuously at the end of his mighty maul. He looks at the remaining beasts charging in. Now you just have to survive their onslaught. Pappy would have said stay small and light in times like these, and so shall I endeavor to do so! Engaged in the furious Melee [assuming he does not die from their retribution] Sayeen yells, As I told your former Ilk I am Sir Sayeen Gabbersleaf, the eldest and elder of half-elves." He ducks under an arm here and there doing his best to not be out flanked, lunges out smashing his electrified raging maul into the beast before him.

Timothy is slightly surprised at how quickly the first target went down, almost upset that he didn't get to do anything, when the rest shows up and a smile is all over his face once again. Timothy notices when Gale flies past him and tags him, he has a questionable look on his face, but is quickly brought back when he sees his sword light up. With a new sense of joy of the upcoming carnage Timothy will position himself in front of the lone opponent that is not being assaulted by fire, waiting for it to get close enough for a first strike.

I Love it When a Plan Comes Together
Resisting their normal urge to charge the 1st SET responds with lethal efficiency to the charging beasts. Gale swoops down and empowers Fell, Timothy, and Sayeen with psionic energy causing their weapons to crackle with electricity. Meanwhile Qooat, turns the dials on a few gadgets and two nearby Ravagers show a slight stumble in their step, as if they’ve had a little too much to drink. Then he blinks out of sight, reappearing on the ledge above the fight.

Flying above the fray, his flaming wings casting an eerie shadow over the dark building Sinder creates a tremendous gout of flames engulfing one of the adult and three younger beasts in a massive blast. The whole room lights up with brightness and even the floor begins to glow as the concrete melts and glows white hot (no illumination penalties). Fire seeps through the underdeveloped armored plates of the three smaller Ravagers and burns them from the inside out (incapacitated). The big one is certainly singled but manages to soak up the damage and keep moving.

Merlaggon and Cory work together as a pair, as the dragon moves to block the path of the grown Ravager Cory uses him as cover to pour forth and incredible flame blast of her own. The big creature is at the narrow end and even though it is hit it seems mostly unaffected, however, two of the smaller Ravagers are stopped in their tracks, with one becoming a charred, smoldering, heap of shell and flesh.

Charging in from the rearguard Timothy hacks at one of the stumbling younger creatures, slicing up through its arm sack and into the head. His vibro sword finds the soft tissue under the jaw and pokes into the Ravager’s tiny animalistic brain, dropping it to the ground limp.Seeing Tim handle the closest one Fell sweeps down to work with Merlaggon on the big one, slicing twice in rapid succession Fell can feel his blade cut extremely deep and slice through all the armor plating nearly severing the beast in half!

Unimpressed by the dragon in front of it the large Ravager bites down hard, going for Merlaggon’s long neck clamping down hard. Fortunately, Merlaggon’s scales hold off the massive teeth but the dragon can feel the pinch. Behind that creature comes the baby swarming and crowding the dragon and taking a chomp with its humongous maw but again the dragon’s tough scales hold up to the test.

The other large Ravager goes straight for Sayeen, obviously the mama avenging her baby! However, the ridiculously lithe old man dances out of the way - probably smiling. Junior comes running in behind mama trying to nip at the Cybernknight as well but fails. Turning around Sayeen wallops the young one in the middle of its skull sending it to oblivion like its brother moments before.

Relentless the littler beast snaps at Merlaggon again, this time clamping down hard and breaking the might dragons skin! (hit with a raise! 42 MD, AP8! - 4 raises)

She learned that front line combat isn't her gig, when the wingboard was blown out from underneath her. Fancy new armor or not, Cory really doubts she'd hold up to a blow from even the small bug!

Qoat materializes facing the wall, and looks down to see the Skill Calculator's power meter show an almost 50% drop. In the moment Qoat thinks to himself, I wonder if there is a way if I can make the power consumption more efficient? He quickly turns and picks up the CV-212 dangling from it's strap and flips the toggle switching the rifle to mega damage mode. He hears the capacitors whine as it prepares to discharge over 10 times the energy it had just a few seconds ago. "Only got a couple of shots remaining on this e-clip," Qoat says to himself.

He lines up the rifle and takes aim at the group of Spiny Ravengers by Cory, Fell, and Merlaggon, Just need a clear shot. If the creatures are still alive by the time he's ready to shoot, he takes the shots at what is left standing.

Sinder breathes a sigh, then steels himself for the next round. He is upset that the large one escaped. His first choice to attack is the big one using his flame bolt. He maneuvers in the air then swoops back toward the big one. if the big one is down he holds his first one is down then will hit the smaller one. He will try to position himself so the flame won't hit the others. If both go down he speeds off to the other side that he came from to make sure none others are coming out. He will use 1 Power point to make sure he can stay in the air.

Sir Sayeen sees the huge Mama ravager bearing down on him. He dodges under one of the many powerful arms. A family Slaughtered. Not my family if I can help it!
With a grimness he sadly says, " I am sorry you were brought here, by your will or not. I am truly sorry." He brings his surging Psi-maul to bear. Its molten sun like power still crackles with the electric hue of Master Wingstorm's energy. Sir Sayeen gives a nod to Gale, a silent thanks between those who have shared much together. I will strike true and not let your actions lie in waste friend. You have unleashed my broken mind, now I unleash the fury of our two souls! Sir Sayeen strikes hard at the Mama letting the power of a knight and melter unfurl itself against the carapace of his foe!

                    Ravaged
After the “smaller” beats takes a bite out of Merlaggon, Gale swoops down from the ceiling and destroys the summoning circle to prevent it from reopening suddenly. Nearby Cory unleashes an onslaught of bolts, incapacitating the beast, before she teleports out of harm’s way

The remaining large creature turns its body around, sweeping its massive tail across the floor forcing both Tim and Sayeen to duck out of the way. Unfortunately the tail is just too large and too close and catches Tim squarely in the chest but he manages to shrug off the blow and replies with his massive vibro sword cutting the beast down from behind. The rest of the group checks their fire as the last creature falls to the floor in a massive heap.

Looking around the team surveys the carnage, not all the creatures are dead but those who are still alive are badly wounded and ornery. Going near them is probably a dangerous prospect. Their dying groans fill the dark space with an eerie backdrop while the molten area of floor that Sinder melted casts a soft glow around the area.

Alright, the creatures are dead the summoning circle is broken and you have a book. Now what?

Remember, you also have a map if you can’t recall how to get back out.

Inbetween strikes he calls over to Fell, "Q has a good point there Fell, some of the summoners may have escaped, and we should find these creatures lair. There maybe some men left alive there, depending on the creatures eating habits." Sir Sayeen goes back to helping Gale. " That was smart master Wingstorm, electrifying my psi-maul like that, would it be possible for you to teach me that technique? ". Sir Sayeen chuckles, " I know some say you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, but I like to think I can still broaden my horizons."

"I agree with Qoat too. I'm not surrendering said book to the FoM. It's in my pack. If need be I will give it over and Q teleports away."

Sir sayeen pauses in helping Gale search through the creature's remains. "Fell perhaps we could rest for a spell before heading out. There may still be much to be uncovered while down here. My energy wans...". Sir Sayeen breathes heavily, " We are not all living on the edge, and taking time to reflect may gain us more insight into what has happened here." Sir Sayeen catches sight of Merlaggon's nasty woumd. Noble Dragon lord, I not see you so injured! Sayeen quickly moves over to Merlaggon's scaly hide.
Merlaggon, if I may I have enough inner strength to try and mend your bravely earned wound." If given conscent, Sir Sayeen will put his hands on Merlaggon. The old knights eyes close as he focuses the last of his energy into his armor and a warm glow envelopes Merlaggon's wound. Just barely above a whisper the elderly knight gives voice to his conviction, "It's all about hope and dreams and living well. Everyone has value, but I think people forget that one common truth. Life is hard, and it makes some people callous, dispassionate and cruel. I hope we can change that and remind people of their own strength and goodness."

Timothy looks around and finds the creatures that are still alive. He walks up and puts the sword into them to finish them off. As he is finishing up the last of the creatures, Timothy will look up at Fell. "Do you trust someone at headquarters not to use it? If this can summon this things, what else can it do? How much damage can it do? At least the CS won't use it. I don't think we should stick around any longer than we already have. We should get going back to base." As Timothy starts to clean up his gear his eyes turn off and are showing a 532 error message in red. "BY THE EMPEROR!!! HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS SHIT KEEP HAPPENING? FELL REQUISITION ME NEW EYES AS SOON AS WE GET BACK TO BASE." With a heavy sigh Timothy. "Q, I hate to do this all the f'ing time, could you please fix my eyes again? They turned off this time and are making weird symbols."

Qoat looks up from the area he's searching, Now what?, he thinks. Don't laugh at the cyborg with the chain sword. "Sure Timothy, I'll help you with that." He takes out his micro tools and opens up the panel on Timothy's head. Maybe I should mount a big red reset button on the side. "Tim?" Qoat says, trying to project some manner, "This eye is borked. Even if I had the right equipment, it'd take a few days of work. It'd be easier to just replace it." Dead man walking. Not much left to do but go through his pockets and look for loose change.

As he's putting his tools back in his pack, Qoat thinks back, By the emperor? Who the hell is the XO talking about? The only self-styled emperor I know of ol' Prosek.

Watching Timothy as Qoat works on his bionic eyes Fell thinks to himself about acquiring some cybernetics.

Looking around at all the others, the Juicer asks:

"So. We camp here and see who comes in after us. We head back out now. Or some other option. It might be nice if we had a way to peak outside and do a recon. Some invisible and fast recon. Find out who we are dealing with. If its the CS I'm inclined to just go out. FoM then we either prepare for a battle in here or charge out. Thoughts?"

Sir Sayeen clamps a hand on his friend Fells shoulder. Kindly the old man says quietly, " Oft the answer to your quandry lies in neither extreme, but in a compromise of both. It will take a bit to get back to the main level, and if we go slowly our strength can recover. We can have a couple of folks scout the way so we are not taken by suprise should the federation or coalition come looking for us." . Sir Sayeen does seem very tired, his words at the end were horse and barely even a whisper. Sayeen sits down on some ruble awaiting Fell's decision. The price of leadership is a heavy one to bear.
While sitting down his eyes pierce the darkness catching a glimpse of Timothy struggling with his eye-sight. A terrible price to become a noble protector." . Sayeen looks down and picks up a peice of cyberwear that had seemly rolled off Timothy hitting Sayeen's boot. "Ahh Q, I think this might be an important peice." Sir Sayeen chuckles slightly holding the peice for Q to take. His gaze continues looking arround trying as best as he can to see from where these creatures sprang from.

Cory pauses and takes in the scene. She doesn't go near the creatures, but does her best to tell where they were hiding.

When Merlaggon asks her about recharging, she replies, "I'm as charged up as I'm going to be, so, I think we should keep looking for the Tomorrow Legion people. I don't know why these guys are talking about running away already."

She looks at Fell, "Like, why are we talking about leaving? You know, we don't exactly know, like, what happened? I'm still like powered from the ley line, like big time still, you know, so the more time we dick around, I'm just wasting all that energy. Let's go, come on."

Then she shrugs and says to Merl, "It would totally be awesome, but totally gross too, to see if they ate the other guys."

She walks around the room looking for any more evidence or another route to explore deeper. She is using her flashlight to search in the nooks and crannies and down any hallways. She will move further away from the rest of the group if their just standing around. If Merl does slice open the bellies she will come back and have a look, as gross as that may be. Otherwise, she keeps exploring deeper into the structure looking for more answers.

If they made short work of these beasties, why didn't the other team? And what happened to the Feds that came down here? Were they all killed at that circle? There are too many questions with out answers to turn back now!

Fell rolls his eyes. Rubs his temples. Then takes a big breath. Prosek's pretty ponytails...

"First, finish searching the plant. Lets look for anywhere we have not been yet. Lets not leave the job half done. Second, when we are done with that I would like one or two volunteers to scout out whats happening outside. Then, based on that scouting, third we head out and meet whats outside. Alright? Right. Great. Lets go, search and stay Together."

With that the Juicer looks around and then says, "...who's dicking around? Tim, put your glasses on and lets go. You or Merl want point?"

With Chain Sword held two handed the Juicer is ready to roll. To finish searching and then get to the next part.
