Frost (Kaihuata) was raised in the Burbs of Free Quebec. Free. The irony of that word alone considering his circumenstances.

Frost's family were transplants to North America from New Zealand. His family held onto what traditions they could from New Zealand and the native Maoris. Many things have been lost and Frost only recalls a few of the stories.

Frost's father was a man of honor and integrity in a world where such things were hard to come by. The Burbs of Free Quebec were under control of Le Marche Noir. Frost never exactly how or why it happened, but his parents were murdered for something related to Le Marche Noir.

Frost fled the Burbs of Free Quebec to enlist in the CS Army in Iron Heart.
