Grandpa Masterson

Gender: at my age, that stuff just don't matter any more Human

Description: Weathered old man, lathered skin and ready to drop dead any minute.

Background:When the story mentions Bot Masterson Granpa looks up a far more interested than only seconds before. But Thinking back he remembers...

Grandpa's favorite daughter Molly helped make hundreds of bots as the supervisor of a manufacturing facility. But her favorite was always Bot Masterson. When he went bad and helped fight in the rebellion Molly (Grandma to her own) was heart broken. Nearly every bot he ever helped build went bad. But she thought at least Bot would have decided to go Cog.

When she was dying she knew her time was limited, all she asked was for just one of her bots to come see her, to change and decide to join the Cogs. She never admitted it, but Grandpa knew she was ashamed of her work. So when Bot did not respond to the letter then sent (Word was the he shot the postman, which kinda makes sense) Grandma asked Grandpa to find all them bots, to find them and gun them down if they won't repent of their ways. Now Grandpa is on the road with Charlotte Molly's only granddaughter and the two of them are gonna set things right before he dies...

Back in the present the old man looks around and nods. These young fellers bout ta be in fer a hurt if they ain't got no one ta be watchin out fer em. He best be going wid em. "I'm in."

  • Dragoon Pistol x2: The standard-issue sidearm for all rangers. The Tesla Dragoon is a five-shot pistol built to be versatile to the needs of whatever the Wired West can throw at you. Every ranger gets one when they sign up. Additional Dragoons require a Requisition check. Dragoons are capable of using a variety of ammo cartridges to fit the needs of the mission (see below). (Range 12/24/48, Damage varies, RoF 2, AP varies, 5 lb, $100)
  • QTY: 1 OF Cast-Iron Cartridges x2: Oversized armor-piercing bullets made of densely cast iron. These hefty cartridges pack a wallop against most robots. Pistol (Damage 2d6, RoF 2, AP 2, +3 lb/5 Shots, $30/15, HW). Rifle (Damage 2d8, RoF 2, AP 2, +3 lb/5 Shots, $60/30, HW).
  • QTY: 1 OF Magnetic Cartridges x2: Made of standard lead wrapped around a magnetized core, these bullets don't have the oomph of cast-iron cartridges, but they aid rangers with difficult shots. These bullets have been seen to curve to hit robots behind cover and around corners. Pistol (Damage 2d6, RoF 2, +1 lb/5 Shots, $10/15, Ignores Cover for metal targets). Rifle (Damage 2d8, RoF 2, +1 lb/5 Shots, $20/30, Ignores Cover for metal targets).
  • QTY: 1 OF Teslic Cartridges x2: Experimental ammo fresh from the Tesla labs back east. These rounds look like glowing miniature radio tubes. Developed from the same tech as galvanic coils, each round has just enough juice to project one bolt of lightning. Once expended, the cartridges require charging at a ranger station, or with a Teslic Dynamo before they can fire again. Pistol (Damage 2d6 + 2, RoF 1, +1 lb/5 Shots lb, $100/10, HW, Ignores metal Armor). Rifle (Damage 2d8 + 2, RoF 1, +1 lb/5 Shots lb, $200/20, HW, Ignores metal Armor).
Putting on the twin dragoons on, belting the ammunition and slinging the Peacemaker across his chest he will stow the rest of his gear on the horse.
