Spartaxians will never use arms with the unarmed and always respond with like or less force. They also never kill without warning. The will subdue an opponent out of stealth and will not kill them. They also will never kill another Spartaxian unless it is in a prescribed Combat of Honor to the death. These are very rare. Code of Honor (-2)
  • Never Consider Personal Cost: RACIAL: Spartaxians always protect the weak and innocent no matter the cost. Civilians are never used as leverage and they will alwys do what they can to protect them in combat no matter what the personal cost. Heroic (-2)
  • Natural Warriors - Agility: RACIAL: Spartaxian Training is brutal designed to forge peak physical conditioning for combat. Agility starts at d6. (+2)

  • Not Much for Words: RACIAL: Spartaxians are not Orators, far from it. They are awkward and limit communication to straightforward statements and giving orders. They struggle understanding sarcasm, innuendo and metaphor. When they try to emulate other species use, it is usually wrong and awkward. Tongue Tied (-2)
  • Hard on the Eyes: RACIAL: Lets be honest, Spartaxians aren't attractive naturally. The scarring from their conditioning, surgeries, and training does not help. Ugly (-1)

Background
The Story of Sabrick Vek

Makgra is a tradition as old as Spartax. The code says if one accuses another of dishonor of such great magnitude that it will forever caste a shadow on the family of the accused, then the accuser and accused can engage in ritual combat to the death. This is used to absolve the family from the accusation, because if the accused loses he has paid the ultimate price and if the accuser loses he the accused has proven himself as a worthy Spartaxian. Sabrick Vek always believed in this code, he still does but it isn't perfect, and Sabrick learned that fact first hand. His friend and brother in arms, Bagrom Set was the greatest warrior Sabrick had ever seen, maybe even Spartax had ever seen. When Satab Grem accused him of desertion of his troops and command during a training exercise, everyone knew it was preposterous, but fleeing in fear is one of the gravest accusation there can be. Satab who was ruthless and cruel had put fear in the heart of Bagrom's unit and none would step forward to contradict Satab's claim. Sabrick was having his skeleton reinforced on the day of the exercise so he wasn't there and thus was not allowed to speak. The decision was made for Makgra. Sabrick knew Bagrom would destroy Satab, and was confused why Satab would be so foolish to maintain the accusation and agree. The day of Makgra arrived. The arena was full of those there to see Makgra play out. Both the accused and accuser came out in their ritual paints and bearing their ritual blades. They prayed to Grosh, god of honor in battle, then combat began. Bagrom opened with a lightning fast kick. Satab was obviously outmatched. Bagrom was only going to use the blade to end the combat. He was one of the most accomplished unarmed fighters in Spartaxian history. Sabrick idolized him. He sought to be under his command to learn how to be an accomplished unarmed fighter. Satab had to use the advantage of the knife. Poor Spartaxian form, because the code mandates that Spartaxians answer in like force. The fact Bagrom had a knife he was refusing to use made it technically ok. Bagrom landed a series of blows, Satab would surely know defeat this day. As Satab was knocked back, he lashed out with his blade. He landed a slash across his chest. Bagrom smiled and said well done before landing a kick across Satab's face. That is when Sabrick saw it. Bagrom legs slightly buckled and a look of fear crossed Bagrom's face. Satab pounced landing on Bagrom whose superior strength seemed to have left him and he fell to the ground with Satab ontop of him. Bagrom could not hold him off as Satab plunged the blade deep into Bagrom's chest. And as Bagroms' family looked on and his closest friend Sabrick watched, he drew his last breath and life left his eyes. Satab stood Triumphant and raised his arms in the air as many in the crowd celebrated his victory. Fury entered Sabrick's heart and then crossed his face as he jumped down into the arena. "POISON. Satab has used poison on his blade. He violated the tenants of honorable combat!!!!!!" The crowd grew silent. Satab screamed at Sabrick, "Stop your gibbering you petulant child, or I will put you down like I did your friend." An older man sitting in a covered area of the stands. He was Commander Hoak. Bagrom's commanding officer and therfore also Satab's. He said "Sabrick Vek, is it? This is a serious accusation against Satab, but more importantly against me. I inspected Satab's blade just before he entered the arena. There was no poison on the blade. I understand you and Bagrom were close and grief makes us do foolish things. Return to your seat and let us celebrate a well fought Makgra, and remember our fallen brother." Sabrick was confused, blades are inspected just before entering the arena. He must of poisoned it after the inspection. but how? He is wearing a loin cloth and nothing else. He had to answer for this crime. Sabrick saw red as he rushed Satab. He leaped up kneeing him in the face. Satab smiled as he brandished his blade. "Time I put you down welp." He lashed out with his blade and Sabrick deftly dodged it. Sabrick screamed as he lept into the air launching over him in a flip, as he made his rotation he locked Satab's head into his arm as he landed on his feet. His momentum started to flip Satab over him. Just before his rotation began Sabrick felt Satab's neck snap, as his lifeless limp began flying across the arena hitting a wall with a wet plop. Before Sabrick could realize what he did, he was seized by soldiers. As he looked at Commander Hoak, He saw a subtle grin on his face. The guards took him away. Why was Hoak grinning. This question would haunt Sabrick for the last two years.

His sentence should of been death. Killing a Spartaxian outside of ritual Combat is one of the most heinous crimes there is on Spartax. Sabrick's Father is a general in the military. He resigned in dishonor to get Sabrick's sentence changed to exile. He had destroyed his family's in anger. His father gave up his life to save his. and he wouldn't even get to see them before his exile. The day came as Sabrick was taken to the space station orbiting the planet. He was given passage on a trade ship. He was allowed to keep his armor and weapons. Soon after he established himself as a mercenary, mostly fighting wars for other planets. The last two years have been hard for him. He misses his mother, father and sister. He finds the alien cultures strange and confusing. He has faced so many species that have no honor and are reckless in their applications of war. He struggles to maintain the code, which has caused him to be in host water more than once. He is lost in a strange universe and he hopes one day to find a place to call home.
