Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
As our monsters go from task to task they often find themselves in dingy and dark back alleys. This is a place for out of character chat and getting answer I miss on Hangout.

Re: Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
As the missions will often focus heavily on finding nest of monsters and removing or undermining them. This could be a very shadowrun like game, lots of players planning and deciding what to do.
It will be cool to know how you contribute to those roles and how your skills can compliment each other.

Re: Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
Alrighty, folks. I'm thinking this image will represent my character's Morphus:
For his facade, I'm thinking something like Miles Morales, Marvel's current teenage Spider-man. For those who are not familiar, here's Miles: And
The hoodie is important, because he likes to keep his head covered when he transforms to block out some of the light his Morphus form generates. He puts the mask on for the same reason.
Open question for the group: any modifiers you can think of that would be appropriate for his Morphus form? Hideous? Monstrous? Some kind of modifier to represent that he glows?
For reference, this is what got me started on the idea of a lightning guy, and I thought they were cool so I'm sharing:

Re: Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
I really, really like the third one with the chains.
That is so fricken awesome.
The two boys look different. The blue sweater one has softer features and looks more empathetic and emotionally stable. The one in the action pose looks all athletic, less baby fat on the cheeks, and more interested in doing cool stuff. with his trimmed eye brows and narrowed eyes it give him the look of a jaded person who lacks empathy.
So I would think about which persona you wish to convey.

Depends a little, but worst case scenario is that I'll need 2 EP to afford the second slot this quarter.

Meet Triessa Elrich
Just another working Joe, trying to make ends meet as a private investigator in a world gone increasingly nutty. Although she seems kinda antisocial, most folks in her neighborhood know she has a way of getting things done. Sometimes impossible things. Just never ask how.
First draft stats for those who are interested:

Knowledge: Arcana [dice]0[/dice] or [dice]1[/dice] +1 if she can use the Encyclopedia.
Since I can, and have an extra Benny from somewhere...a benny to reroll!
[dice]2[/dice] or [dice]3[/dice] = 5 or possibly 6 if she can hit her library up and use the magic book.

Greetings, this avatar was about as close as I could come, as they did not have and Ghoul pictures that fit I had to settle for a werehyena. The closest description you can find in two words would be "Werehyena Zombie".

I think the description in my head of the Ghoul came from the Lovecraft story "Pickman's Model", though it has been years since I read it.

Hm, looking for the stats on those dimensional portal spells, but I can't find them. Are they only on Hangouts?
Any chance they could get on Google Doc, or posted here?

Re: Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
There were never created. I was allowing one of you to create them with the following guidelines:
- Each Spell allows two way travel between 1 of the three dimensions (Nightlands, Astral, or Dreamlands)
- Veteran Rank
- PPE/Penalty: 4+2 per additional person or -2 and -1 per additional person
- From there writing the flavor text would be the player responsibility.
- The Player who wrote up all three spells would receive 2 bennies

Re: Back Alleys (OOC for Nightbane)
Challenge: ACCEPTED
Shatter The Glass (Nightlands Portal)
Rank: Veteran
Power Points: 4+
Range: Special
Duration: Instant
This invocation creates a shimmering, reflective 'surface' in midair directly adjacent to one or more targets touched by the caster, or one another. As the spell completes this surface breaks harmlessly, revealing either the Nightlands (when cast on Earth) or Earth (when cast in the Nightlands). The targets are drawn through this passage into the point on the other world that corresponds most closely to the point it was cast. Unwilling targets can make an Agility roll to avoid being drawn into the portal and be unaffected by the spell. On a raise this Agility roll is at -2.
Shatter the Glass costs 4 PP to transport the first target. Each additional person to be transported adds 2 PP to the cost.
Walk the Silver Path (Astral Portal)
Rank: Veteran
Power Points: 4+
Range: Special
Duration: Instant
A strange silvery mist forms in midair directly adjacent to one or more targets touched by the caster, or one another. As the spell completes the mist parts slightly and a glowing ribbon of silver light snakes through to create a walkable pathway. Dimly through the mist one can see either the Astral Plane (when cast on Earth) or Earth (when cast in the Astral Plane). The targets are drawn through this passage into the point in the Astral Plane that corresponds most closely to the point it was cast. Unwilling targets can make an Agility roll to avoid being drawn into the portal and be unaffected by the spell. On a raise this Agility roll is at -2.
Walk the Silver Path costs 4 PP to transport the first target. Each additional person to be transported adds 2 PP to the cost.
Somnambulance (Dreamlands Portal)
Rank: Veteran
Power Points: 4+
Range: Special
Duration: Instant
The target of this spell, caster or other creatures touched by the caster or one another, appear to fall into a deep trance or slumber. Each is engulfed by a cascade of unearthly purple and indigo-hued light and vapors. In that pale radiance behind them either the Dreamlands (when cast on Earth) or Earth (when cast in the Dreamlands) can be glimpsed. The targets swiftly fall backwards into the portals and are transported to the point on the other world that corresponds most closely to the point it was cast. Unwilling targets can make an Agility roll to avoid being drawn into the portal and be unaffected by the spell. On a raise this Agility roll is at -2.
Somnabulance costs 4 PP to transport the first target. Each additional person to be transported adds 2 PP to the cost.
